DESCRIPTION:The Mining and Manufacturing Career Awareness Program (MAMCAP) is a tailored program to assist in career awareness for the Mining and Manufacturing sectors. \nThe program is aligned to the Australian Secondary School Curriculum and involves an engaging presentation leading into a hands-on activity to show case the diverse careers and pathways options within the sectors. \nTMEC have developed three programs\, one each for Mining and Manufacturing\, and a combination program incorporating both. The program is designed for years 9 -12 students. \nIf you’re a student interested in a Mining or Advanced Manufacturing career\, talk with your teacher about organising a presentation by the Tasmanian Minerals\, Manufacturing and Energy Council (TMEC). \nCareer pathways in mining\, manufacturing and energy\nThe mining\, manufacturing and energy industries cover a diverse range of products and services – directly employing 25\,800 Tasmanians and needing 10\,000 more from all walks of life by 2040. \nYou can start some of your vocational training in school\, choose an apprenticeship or traineeship with an employer or Group Training Organisation\, or take a University pathway. \nLearn more about pathways and careers.

The base is located 70km from Melbourne on Western Port Bay. \nThis work experience placement is open to Tasmanian students and will run over over 3 days. DESCRIPTION:The Feed Your Mind\, Feed the World (FYM) camp is a three-day experience for year 11 and 12 students interested in learning more about agricultural science and career pathways stemming from an agricultural science degree. The camp is hosted by the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA)\, which is the agricultural research arm of the University of Tasmania and responsible for teaching the Bachelor’s degree. \nThe FYM camp is held in North West Tasmania\, allowing students to observe and interact with several diverse agricultural industries and learn about the advantages of studying agricultural science in Tasmania\, including a visit to our research farms. TIA staff members supervise students during the camp\, and specific degree details and information on studying at the University of Tasmania are also provided. \nSpaces are limited. SUMMARY:Feed Your Mind\, Feed The World
DESCRIPTION:The Feed Your Mind\, Feed the World (FYM) camp is a three-day experience for year 11 and 12 students interested in learning more about agricultural science and career pathways stemming from an agricultural science degree. The camp is hosted by the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA)\, which is the agricultural research arm of the University of Tasmania and responsible for teaching the Bachelor’s degree. \nThe FYM camp is held in North West Tasmania\, allowing students to observe and interact with several diverse agricultural industries and learn about the advantages of studying agricultural science in Tasmania\, including a visit to our research farms. TIA staff members supervise students during the camp\, and specific degree details and information on studying at the University of Tasmania are also provided. \nWhat is included in the camp?\nTransport \n\nFor Tasmanian students\, transport to/from Hobart\, Launceston\, Burnie\, and Devonport will be provided. Other pick up and drop off locations may be possible and will be discussed on an individual student basis.\nIf you are an interstate student\, you will need to arrange and cover the cost of your flights and transport to and from your home airport. However\, we’re pleased to offer travel support to a select number of interstate students\, with up to 12 places available. If eligible\, you could receive up to $400 towards your flight costs. Final details and eligibility criteria will be available in May 2025\, and terms and conditions will apply. Once successful applicants are announced\, we will contact you and your parents with specific recommendations for arrival locations and times\, and explain the support available to you upon arrival in Tasmania.\nA bus will be used to transport all students during the camp.\n\nAccommodation and Meals \n\nDuring the camp\, students will be staying in cabins at Camp Clayton in Ulverstone\nAll meals will be provided during the camp – dietaries can be catered for.\n\nApplications\n\nTo apply\, register here\nHow will my application be assessed?
