Take your next step to success
Life isn’t always easy, and a scholarship or bursary can make a big difference to your university experience. If you’re looking for financial support for various reasons, there is a scholarship that’s right for you.
If you know what you’re studying, and where you’re studying, finding a scholarship is the next step. To get started visit our article on Researching and Applying for Scholarships and Bursaries.
Don’t miss the deadline
Scholarships for 2023 at the University of Tasmania are now open. Key scholarships at this university close on the 31 October 2022. (Hot tip: Always check the closing date of the scholarship you are intending to apply for as this may vary.) You will need to register in the scholarships portal even if you have already applied for your course. Separate applications and supporting documentation are required for each scholarship.
For mainland universities the same process may apply. Check with admissions or student recruitment at the uni you’re applying to.
If you are planning on moving to the mainland to study, consider applying through a Tertiary Admissions Centre (TAC). TACs are places that receive and manage applications for public universities, private universities, TAFEs and independent tertiary colleges. They can also provide information on application requirements, accommodation, and important dates, such as deadlines for scholarship applications (so they’re great people to get to know).
Stay in contact
Don’t miss out on that scholarship or bursary because you forgot to check your emails! (or didn’t return a phone call). Some scholarships are highly competitive, with more applicants than scholarships available. There might be extra information the assessment team needs to consider your application. Your school career advisor can support you throughout the scholarship process. Good luck!
