Girls in Power

September 20 @ 9:00 am - September 22 @ 5:00 pm

Be part of the next generation

Girls in Power is an inaugural three-day work exposure event and aims to arm Year 9 and 10 students with confidence and choices. Participate in activities that develop your skills, tour workplaces to increase your knowledge, hear from amazing female leaders and spend time with other girls just like you.

We know that you can’t be what you can’t see.

Lots of people talk about renewable energy careers, and this event will unpack what those careers are, the pathways to reach them, subjects you should study and will also instil the belief that you can be the next generation of Girls in Power.

Where will you be based?

The event will be based in Hobart includes excursions to central Tasmania.

What will you get up to?

We don’t want to give too much away, but here is a little bit of what you can expect;

  • Moving energy to where it’s needed
  • Tunnelling a future at MONA
  • Feeling the buzz of a substation
  • Protecting birds from wind turbines
  • Take a step back in time to where hydropower all began
  • Engineer your own turbine
  • Discover the energy in water
