Empowering the Next Generation of Cyber Protectors – Tech Talk #2

20 October 2021 @ 3:30 pm - 4:15 pm

Ashleigh Ward is an Information Systems specialist at Insane Technologies. Her expertise is Cyber Security. In Australia, cybercrime is costing businesses billions of dollars every year. Around the world, there is an urgent need for more cyber security specialists. Ashleigh’s 25-minute Tech Talk is a ‘must see’ event for any student considering a career in this developing high tech field.

Ashleigh is passionate about demystifying and promoting a career in Cyber Security (especially for women to follow in her footsteps). Topics include ransomware attacks, business email compromise, account takeovers and more. You’ll also get the lowdown on how to break into the industry (and work with the good guys fighting cyber crime).

Join the online info session to find out more. You’ll have the chance to ask any questions you may have.

The event will be about 25 minutes. Visit the Tech Talk event page to join on the day and for more information.

This talk is brought to you by The Australian Computer Society, ACS Foundation and ICT Gateway to Industry Schools Program. It’s part of a series of talks showing how a career in

tech can be flexible, innovative, creative and well-paid. Join established and emerging tech leaders who will talk about their career journey to date. They’ll provide insights into the pathways into an amazing tech career.

The ICT Gateway to Industry Schools program is proudly supported by the Queensland Government and Department of Employment, Small Business and Training. Look for the #ictgisp tag on LinkedIn to find out more.
